Background of
our Horses
Our
Breeding
Goals
We breed
horses that
are
athletic,
with
trainable,
good
dispositions
so they can
be used for
work or to
show and to
be enjoyed.
All of our
horses are
raised on
ranches,
which means
they climb
in hills,
navigate in
and around
rocks,
squirrel
holes,
creeks and
live amongst
other
horses,
cattle and
buffalo.
Consequently,
they know
how to
handle
themselves
in the
country.
This healthy
beginning
helps to
develop
strong
bodies and
good minds.
All of our
horses'
breeding
originates
from
long-time,
established
horse
breeders
from Oregon,
Nevada and
California.
We have
sought out
this stock
for our
breeding
program
because we
too want to
produce
durable,
versatile
horses...horses
that can be
used for
work on the
ranch and
that can be
taken to
town to
perform. We
are very
proud of the
horses we
have for
sale.

The
Value of
Being Raised
at the
Stonyford
Ranch
Each year
our stallion
is turned
out with a
band of
hardy Paint
and Quarter
Horse
broodmares
on thousands
of acres,
grazing next
to cattle
and buffalo.
The mares
are bred
naturally
and the
foals are
born and
raised on
the Ranch's
large
acreage,
where they
travel with
the herd
until they
are weaned
as a group.
Being raised
in this
setting
provides the
foals with
the
opportunity
to learn how
to interact
with each
other, how
to climb in
hills, walk
through
creeks and
they can run
and play in
the wide
open spaces.
The foals
are weaned
together as
a group and
remain on
large
acreage.
This
positive
environment
in which
they grow
helps
develop
strong
bodies and
good minds.
